Star Trek: The Experience to Reopen for New Movie

The Star Trek experience is returning to Las Vegas bigger and better than ever. Its previous location, just off the strip will be replaced by a new shiny home in downtown Vegas opening just in time for J.J. Abrams movie.
The Star Trek experience will return with new shops and restaurants. This should include Quarks Bar and the museum of the future. Not only that but the tickets will be 20 to 25 dollars which is less than the previous Star Trek experience.
The Star Trek Experience won't be fully open until 2010 and once it is I want to go.

I love the look. I just hope there is a reason they have a shuttle craft flying around outside shooting and didn't just decided that they wanted them to be space fighters now. We already have small fighters in Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica. I like Star Trek combat the way it is with large ships pounding each other down. It's not better, possibly not even as good, but it's Star Trek and it's differnt.

There are always rumors flying around the Internet, and sometimes they even turn out to be true, but often the most interesting are those that have no basis in reality at all, yet they still serve a purpose as a starting point for interesting conversations and new ways of thinking. Here are a few rumors that I just made up in hopes of starting an Internet wide conversation.

5. Scifi's Flash Gordan to get big screen adaption
Though Flash Gordan was unable to gather an audience on the Scifi channel executives believe that it is the perfect vehicle for them to make the jump to producing big budget theatrical releases. Other possibilities which were considered were Mansquito and Chupracabra.

4. George Lucas to make cameo appearance in new J.J Abrams Star Trek Movie
Though rumors are being denied several have reported seeing George Lucas on the set of the new Star Trek movie wearing a red Star Fleet uniform with a large black scorch mark on the front. Neither J.J. Abrams or George Lucas were available for comment.




3. Kevin Sorbo to play Spiderman in Spiderman 4
After negotiations with Spiderman star Tobey Maquire fell through a few days ago names began to be circulated to replace him in the superhero franchise. Those names included, Orlando Bloom, Ben Afleck, and Jean Claude Van Damme but executives have seemingly come to the decision to use Kevin Sorbo, best known for playing Herculie's, as the Webcrawler.

2. Wonder Woman Revealed to be a Robot
In an attempt to draw more readers to the Wonder Woman comics D.C. writers have decided to reveal in an upcoming issue that Princess Diana is, and always was, A robot. This shock to comic book fans is said to have been foreshadowed by William Moulton Marston as early as 1943.
"I'm very excited to be the one D.C. decided to be the one to reveal this longtime secret," said Dennis O'Neil current writer of Princess Diana: Wonder Woman.
D.C. has not yet said if the title of the upcoming books will be changed to Pricness Dianan: Wonder Robot.

1. Uwi Boll to write and direct next Batman Movie
"We believe that this award winning director deserves a chance to direct higher profile movies," one executive at Warner Brothers said.
Uwi is reported to be excited about the chance to put his own special spin on the Batman franchise and is already soliciting funds from contacts in Germany.

Star Trek On Blue Ray

On April 28th the first season of the original series of Star Trek will be made available on blue-ray DVD. The release will have both the remastered and original shows as well as most of the extras from the HD version, losing a few featuretts and text commentaries in the transfer. They are expected to be 118 dollars for the set.
On May 12 the movies will become available up to VI. This means that the viewing experience of Star Trek V will be even better than before.
The original commentaries will be ported over, which include Leonard Nimoy, Nick Meyer, William Shatner and others, but there are also new commentaries from Ron Moore, Manny Coto and others.

How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Remake

Twenty years ago a new religion appeared in Hollywood California. This new religion taught that new ideas are one of the greatest evils of the modern world. A few have refused to be converted to this new idea, but only a hand full, the remainder not only converted but have followed the most basic tenant of their religion by steadfastly refusing to create any movie with an original storyline.
Every year their devotion to this religious cause becomes more and more impressive as it becomes more clear just how absurd the recycling of these ideas has become.
Among the most recent attempts to keep the movie industry alive under this moral regime are the rebooting of several old franchises, including Star Trek, Transformers, Speed Racer, The Day the Earth Stood Still, V, Street Fighter, and Scooby Doo.
We must commend these people for the religious devotion it takes to spend a year of your life creating a Scooby Doo movie. Just the idea of such religious devotion nearly brings me to tears and yet it is common for these devotes to be attacked on the Internet by people who do not understand the courage it takes to follow their convictions to such extremes.
Yet for the true followers of this religion that is not enough. It is for this reason that in the next years they will be releasing three "new" Jane Austin movies. Zombie Pride and Prejudice, Alien Pride and Prejudice and Time Travel Pride and Prejudice.
It is time that we stop attacking these deeply moral people. We may disagree with their religious beliefs but America is built on tolerance for ideas we do not agree with and though many in hollywood with claim that this religion does not exist I ask you, is there any other reasonible explanation for the rumors of the remake of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show"

When Will Michal Dorn be back on Heroes?

It was great to hear Michal Dorn as president on Heroes at the end of the last volume, but my question now is when do we get to see him again. He only has one episode of Heroes listed on IMDB but I don't know if they put TV programs on before they air so it's possible that he will be back.
If he isn't coming back I suspect that NBC may have made a small error in putting him in that part and compounded that problem by not showing us his face. A normal scene with him wouldn't have created nearly the amount of speculation about Michal Dorn, but by hiding his face you made us all think that you wanted a big reveal next volume.
With another episode of heroes tonight and the Hunter beginning to cause trouble for Nathan I hope that this is the episode where he goes back to the president. What better day for a Michal Dorn to have some real scenes as the president than President's day.
Note to the Writers of Heroes: If you could get him to say "If you were any other man I would kill you," that would be great. Thanks.

Star Trek Online, Comic Con 2009

The makers of Star Trek Online have released a trailer, it doesn't show game play but it does demonstrate the characters you can make. If they can get this right they could make great game where the Klingons finally get to destroy the Federation once and for all.

George Takei: Star Trek Traitor

If you don't watch the Clone Wars they you may not have heard that George Takei has betrayed Star Trek and taken a voice acting job with Star Wars. As all true fans know it is impossible to like both shows. The good news is that no other actor has sold his soul and moved between the two shows as Mr. Takei has. He makes a weak attempt to defend his actions here, but in the end he only insults Star Trek, saying that they isolated him from the other actors during the Star Trek cartoon series while the Clone Wars allows him to work with the other actors directly. I can only hope that as Lok Durd he can eliminate that pesky girl Jedi in the tube top once and for alll and redeem himself at least a little.
